There is something wonderfully integrative and and catalytic when you realise that you have been deeply listened to.  One of the amazing qualities of Generative Scribing is the depth of listening into not just the words, but the behaviours, dynamics, narratives and stories in the individual, group or system one is in service to.

You are noticing an arc of past, NOW, and future

together with the potential that is held in the system.

 

The role of the Generative scribe is not just to record data or voices or patterns but to sense into what is about to emerge; to sense how the future is influencing the now - the So What/Now What of the enquiry.

 

It is to present a mirror of what is seen, sensed and heard so that it may be recognised and owned.  The Generative Scribe brings an open non-judgmental perspective to what might be to come and opens up a space for something to be seeded.

 

This practice is integrative, bringing together a systemic facilitation lense and a co-creative, creative practice.  I have learned so much through being mentored and guided by Kelvy Bird and the wonderful global network of Generative Scribe facilitators. This is a powerful, depth tool that goes profoundly deeper in the service of change than in visual facilitation whilst simultaneously integrating the techniques and skills of consulting, facilitating and coaching.
